The Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) is required for workers who need unescorted access to secure areas of maritime facilities and vessels.
Plan ahead: The application process can take up to 75 days. Applications that require additional review may take another 3–5 weeks.
TSA enrollment is different from our Illinois fingerprinting.
- TSA PreCheck®, TWIC and HAZMAT enrollment is available only at our Effingham office (302 E. Jefferson Ave.). Our other 40+ fingerprint locations cannot process TSA enrollments.
- Don't use the BBS fingerprint scheduler for TSA services. Book through the TSA enrollment website, or simply walk in.
- TSA fees, payment and required documents are set by the TSA and are different from Illinois fingerprinting fees.
